Reviewing the Field Estimate Report

The Field Estimate report displays a summary of the estimates in a return. The estimate detail in the report links to the return fields to which they apply. You can view the estimate detail while you work on a form or worksheet, allowing you to move between the report and the applicable field in the return. To display the Field Estimate report, do the following:

  1. Select Calc > Return in the Process group on the Home tab, if the return has not been calculated since the last update.
  2. Click Estimates in the Reports group on the Review tab. The Field Estimate report displays estimate details, including the form or worksheet names, estimate descriptions, and estimate amounts.
  3. To review or edit an estimate, click one of the following tabs on the Field Estimate Report window and do one of the following:
    • Worksheet. Click located beside an estimate description.
    • Government. Select a row in the grid and click below the grid or double-click a row in the grid.
  4. The report links to the applicable form or worksheet field in the tax return, allowing you to review or edit the information.

  5. Make changes to the selected estimate, as necessary.
  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to review or edit other estimates.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Click Print to display the Print Options window, and then do the following:
      1. Select the number of copies, print destination, and, if needed, print device and watermark.
      2. If you are printing to PDF or TIFF, enter or browse to and select the file destination.
      3. Click Print to print the Field Estimate report.
    • Note: You can also send PDF or TIFF files to Document, and PDF files to ProSystem fx Engagement if you have enabled the option to do so in User Options > Tax > Interface Options.

    • Click Close to close the Field Estimate report.
